Do Anchors Persist After Closing the AI Conversation Window: How 5BY.AI Preserves Thought Reference Points

When you close an AI conversation window, it may feel like the thinking organized within it also disappears.

The conversation records themselves may remain in the service, but from the conversation list alone, it is not clear how far the user judged and where they intended to continue next.

Closing a browser tab is the act of ending the current screen.

The user may return to the same account days later.

Anchor Is a Per-Account Record Created by the User

Anchor is not automatically shared with other users.

If you switch accounts on the same computer, the previous user's Anchors should not appear for the new user. When logging back into the original account, that user's Anchors should reappear.

Persistence and account isolation must be maintained together.

It Becomes the Starting Point for Handoff

Based on saved Anchors, the user can execute Handoff in a new conversation in the same AI or a different supported AI.

Handoff assembles the Anchor, recent flow, and related records to prepare the starting context for the next conversation.

It is not automatically executed when opening a new tab; the user must explicitly choose to continue.

Anchor Persisting Does Not Make Past Judgments Definitive

An old Anchor is a reference point created under the conditions of that time.

The user should return later and compare with new facts. They can maintain the existing direction or revise it and create a new Anchor.

Persistence is not for fixing past conclusions but for preserving the basis for re-examination.

Role in Graph View

In Graph View, Anchor is not displayed as a parent folder containing Pack and Saved.

It exists as a node at the same level as Pack and Saved, and if Handoff was executed, you can see the movement relationship leading to a new conversation.

Through this, the user can see the following.

In which Pack flow was the Anchor created?
What Saved exists nearby?
To which conversation was a Handoff executed?
What new Pack formed afterward?

Practical Value in Long-Term Projects

When returning to a project after pausing, the biggest problem is not the absence of conversations.

It is that there are too many conversations, making it hard to find the last valid standard.

Anchor helps quickly answer the following questions.

How far did I decide?
What should I maintain?
What have I not yet solved?
Where should I start next?

AI conversation windows can be closed. Browsers can also be terminated.

But Anchors created by the user to resume should not disappear along with the screen.
