Obsidian Graph View vs 5BY.AI Graph View: What's the Difference

※ Obsidian feature descriptions are based on official documentation as of July 2026. Features and availability may change afterward.

Obsidian Graph View and 5BY.AI Graph View both show nodes and connection lines.

But the records that compose the screen and the purpose of use differ.

Obsidian Graph View shows notes and internal links, and 5BY.AI Graph View shows thought segments formed in AI conversations, user choices, and conversation movements.

The Basis of Obsidian Graph View

Obsidian stores Markdown notes within a Vault.

When the user creates internal links from one note to another, Obsidian Graph View visualizes those notes and connections.

In the full Graph View, you can see the connection structure of the Vault, and in Local Graph, you can see connections around the current note.

The user does not manually draw all nodes and lines on screen. When the user writes notes and internal links, Obsidian visualizes them.

The Basis of 5BY.AI Graph View

5BY.AI is not a note app that has the user continuously write separate notes.

It shows as nodes the Pack where a single problem and direction of thought formed in AI conversations, and Saved and Anchor directly selected by the user.

Handoff that continues from an Anchor to a new conversation appears as a movement relationship.

The Meaning of Nodes Differs

The basic node in Obsidian is a Markdown note.

The nodes in 5BY.AI Graph View are as follows.

Not all Raw conversations become direct nodes.

How Connections Are Created Also Differs

Obsidian's connection lines are based on internal links created by the user.

5BY.AI's connections are based on the flow of Pack, the positions of Saved and Anchor, and Handoff movements from Anchor to new conversations.

It does not automatically determine judgment relationships just because topics are similar.

The Meaning of Automatic Composition

In Obsidian, the user writes notes and links, and the product automatically visualizes them.

In 5BY.AI, Pack formed in AI conversations and recorded movement relationships can be automatically composed.

However, 5BY.AI does not automatically decide which answers to leave as Saved or which point to make an Anchor.

When Obsidian Is Suitable

For the following purposes, Obsidian's approach is direct.

When 5BY.AI Is Suitable

For the following problems, 5BY.AI's purpose is clear.

They Can Be Used Together

While discussing with multiple AIs, you can leave important conversations as Saved and create current judgments as Anchor.

After review is complete, you can organize concepts and results into Obsidian notes and connect them with internal links to other knowledge.

If conditions change, you can return to 5BY.AI's Anchor to re-examine the judgment process and then update Obsidian notes.

This does not mean the two products are directly integrated. It means they can be used for different recording purposes.

Obsidian excels at connecting organized knowledge and notes.

5BY.AI focuses on rediscovering the questions, counterarguments, choices, and movements formed in multiple AI conversations before that knowledge was created.
